The Fad of Abergavenny has been raised to a Marquisate, Lord Wharncliffe to an Earldom, and the Earl of Eirne has been created »n English Peer, Messrs Ormsby Gore, Henry Stuart, John Tollemaohe, and Sir Robert Gerald have been raised to the Peerage. The fighting at Perak is considered to be finished. The French Assembly is debating the press law, and several Btormy scenes have occurred. Januiry 1. A fresh Admiralty slave circular has been issued, which modifies the instructions as to the reception on board the Queen's ships of fugitive Blaves. The Times says that Baron Lessens has agreed to advance two millions for two years on the Khedive's founder's shares in the Canal Company. The Daily News says thit England has the option of purchase until the meeting of Parliament. The French Assembly has adopted severe press laws.
