The Resident Misstate said he helievpd it was the moat peculair case he ever had before biro, as tho horsi in the meantime had beeu taken by plaintiffs agent, and as that was all plaintiff wanted, why not let it drop. The work of placing the wires to connect wiih the Lyell commenced in Nf-hon to-day. The present posts between Nelson and Richmond will have two additional wires, which will be carried on to the West Coast. The wire is to be open for use in September next.
