The Good Templars are beginning to follow the example set them in New Zealand by Mr Fox, by moving in tho direction of the abolition of youthful barmaids. A conference was held io London about a fortnight ago of 200 delegates from the Middlesex Good Templars, when the Political Action Committee's report was adopted. It recommends that a Bill should be introduced into Parliament prohibiting the employment of "young femules" behind bars in public-houses and refreshment rooms, on the ground cf "such employment being peculiar to this realm, and almost unkuown on the Continent and America, being fraught with immense temptatiou to immorality, and reflecting great discredit upon our tmton&l credit for Ciirintian morality."
