Present: The Mayor, Crs Everett; Webb, Carter, and Gray. -A letter was received from Mr Younger questioning the right of the Council to dismiss him, but accepting his dismissal, amd offering hi- services in assisting tbo Council in making out the accounts, &c. 'The Pabiic Works Committee recommended the payment of £o to Mr Shirtcliffe as compensation for injuries caused to his cart in consequence of a hole being left unguarded in the road* The questions of tbe gorße nuisance, and of that caused by the sewer near the Post Office were referred to the Publio Works Commitee.
