Dobb?. — March 26, (it Newtown, Christchurch, Arthur Acheson Dobbs, Esq., late of Castle Dobbs, Carrickfergus, Scotland, aged 69 yea r?. [ Deceased, who was a very old settler in the province, «nd a prominent and highly nepected member of the Masonic frattrnity, was interred on the 28th in the Church of England cemetery, in the presence of a large number of the craft, 110 It 89 than one hundred and forty walking in the funeral procession. These included tbe officers of the District Gran'l Lodge (with the R.W.DG.M Bro. W. Ponald), members of the Lodge of Unanimity, Lyttelton; St AuausUne, Christchurch; Canterbury Christchurch (of which the deceased gentleman was a mtmbtr) ; Lodge of St. John, Timaru, distant 110 miles, and visiting brethren from lodges beyond the province »md colony. The burial service of the Cliureh ot England was performed by the Rev. H. C M. Watson, incumbent of St. John's, and the Matonic burial service by Bro. J. L. Fleming, W M. of the Canterbury Lndgo, assisted by P.M. Bro. K. W. Tbiel, fv>ur of the adult choristers of Sf. John's Church siuging the musical portions of each of the service*. The Ja'e Mr Dobbe formed one of the Masonic deputation from Canterbury Kill winning Chapter who as- ' tuted in the consecration and opening of the Trafalgar Royal Arch Chapter of Nelson in October, 1874, and during his thort sojourn, by his amiability and geniality, he made many friends, and his loss in htß own province will be deeply lamented, not only, by the fraternity as a Ma3on, but by the community as a benevolent Chmtiau genttermn ]
