SWIMMING RACES. Yesterday afternoon an attempt was 'tnade to inaugurate an annual series of swimming races and aquatic sports in connection with this Bchool. So far as we can judge from the number of competitors, and the interest ts.ken in the different events, the result was very amxMiraging to tboae who interested themselves in the matter. The programme comprised swimming races for boys over 14, for boys over 12, and for boys under 12. Two (Jiving prizes, kindly presented by F. R. Morris, Esq., produced a keen competition, the long dive being exceptionally good. The remaining items were a back swimming race, a handicap steeplechase; and consolation race. The prizes were presented at (ho conclusion by Mr Lowther Broad, who, with Mr Hunter Brown, Mr Haugbton. and Mr Morris, kiudly assisted in carrying out the arrangements.
