WATERWORKS ACCOUNTS.
Below are given the details of the defalcations of the Water Rates Collector from April lsst. From them it will be seen that a regular system of peculation haß been carried ont, displaying great laxity in those whose business it was to supervise the accounts. As ic is rumored that similar liberties have bem taken with the Education rates, it would be well that the report of the Commissioners appointed tt examine the accounts shonld be pnblished withont delay. Tbe followiog are the errors detected by Messrs Goulstone and Scaife:— RECONCILIATION OF CASH BOOK.
