The Nelson EVening Mail. MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1874.
I. O. R— Members of the abnve Order are reminded of the meeting at the,\ Temperance Hall thia erening at eight o'clock. The next outgoing San Francisco mail will be despatched for Auckland by the Phoebe on the 25th instant. Good TEMPLABs.—The third Lodge for the City of Nelson will be initiated at Mr Campbell's School-Room to-morrow evening. The Circus was again crowded to excess on Satnrday evening, when the performance gave the fullest satisfaction to ail who were present. This Troupe is, without doubt, the best that has . ever visited Nelson, and we would recommend all to pay them a visit. Nelsos Keoatta.— -We are glad to find that an effort is being made to get up a regatta this year. For this pnrpo-e a meetin? will be held at the Trafalgar Hotel on Thursday evening, when all who are interested in the matter are requested to attend. From the promises received .of subscription there appears to he every likelihood of success attending the efforts of those who have taken the matter in hand. Art Exhibition.— The exhibition at the Provincial Hall of photographs. &c, the property of the Bishop of Nelson, is now open to view, and wi I continue to be so on this and to morrow evming, and on the afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday. The hurried viait that we paid to the HaU to-day does not permit of our entering at all into details, bnt we may state that all the photographs ara really beautiful, and especially those jj^JKoman scenery. The exhibition ia open to the public free of charge. In the evening* short descriptive lectures will be delivered by those who have visited the scenes depicted.
