Mr Montgomery addressed the electors in the Town Hall, Akaroa. on Saturday night; there was a large attendance, and the Superintendent was present. In reference to the abolition of the provinces, he spoke strongly sgainßt so large a conbtttutional change being introduced without the people being first consuited. He contrasted the General Government expenditure with the Provincial and its results, alleging that Mr Yogel would not get .less expensive or more effective machinery.
