Auckland, August 6. Mr Von der Heydo has sat on fourteen grand juries, and also on one special jury when damages were awarded to Mr Macfarlane. He also holds the commission of the peace, and in that capacity has signed many legal documents, so that, if proved to be an alien, serious complications will arise. Counsel for Mr Craig has moved in the Supreme Court for a rule to set aside the award in th 9 arbitration case of Craig v. Macfarlane. It is understood that the settlement of tbe long standing l'eiids between Harris and Macfarlane has entirely fallen through, and this cause celebre of the Auckland Province is likely to be continued.
