PARL IAMENTARY.
Wbllinotow, July 28. In the Honse of Representatives to-diy, the Premier stated that tbe Cyphrenes would be detained one day at Otego, and leave Wellington on Friday. The Ward-Chapman Committee have obtained an extension of time for reporting to fourteen days. Mr Ward is on his way up to be examined. Another new Bill has been introduced by the Government to make better provision for the constrcction of works below high water mark. The Estimates were again gone into this afternoon, and the remaining items under the heed Law and Justice were passed unaltered. "Postal and Telegraph £147,503 10s," led to a slight discussion on certain details, but npon an explanation from tbe Premier the item was passed. Customs £40,997 17s 2d wae passed without d-scusrion. On the item "Marine £11,385, including sn item for a naval training school at Kobimarama £2000," considerable objections were raised by the 0?as?o members on the ground that Auckland was unduly favored in the matter, and Mr Macandrew movel that the item be struck ont The point was not settled when the House rose at 5*30 p.m.
