A duel took place between two editors in an open street at San Francisco, when one of them was shot. Small-pox is causing great distress in Canada. The steamer Tartar grounded on Caldrew Reef. She was lightened, and got off without injury. After leaving Honolulu, on the 22nd June, she was set by a current 40 miles to the eastward.
