Napier, June 29. Nearly 4000 shares have been applied for in ;he new Colonial B*nk.
In the Provincial Council a resolution has been carried that the numbers of the Council bejincreased to 19 members, six being for Napier town.
Wanganui, June 2>,
Scar'aiioa has broken out here. At present it is confined to one faniify, the father and four child, ea being infected.
Bluff, June 28.
The Omeo left Melbourne at I*3o p.m. on the 20th, and encountered strng easterly gales nil the passage. She arrived at the Bluff at 10 am. to-day, and sails for Dunedin at 4 p.m to-morrow. She brings 16 Baloon and 40 steerage passengers, and 420 tons of cargo for all ports. Cnptam Cnlder reports that the Albion arrived at Melbourne on the 20th instant, after a run of 4 days 11 hours, being the quickest on record.
