Mk. Foley, the well-known circus P r oprietor, has arrived in Auokland w ith a clever company under his charge. Public Ball. — A ball, which promises to be exceedingly well attended, will be given to his Excellency tbe Governor to-morrow evening. The stewards request that early application may be made for tickets, the prices ot which are for a gentleman with lady friends £1 Is, for bachelors 10s 6d. Nelson Artizans' Association. — Our readers are reminded of tbe entertainment to be given to-nigbt in aid of the widow and family of the late Mr. H. Goddard. The drama of Luke the Labourer and several new songs form tbe programme. Those persons haviog front seat tickets are requested to enter by the side door. The Governor's Levee. — His Ex. cellencyheld a' levee at tbe Provincial Hall tbia afternoon, the Artillery Company furnishing a guard of honour. In addition to his Honour the Supetintendent, and members of the Executive, Judge Richmond, his Worship tbe Mayor, the Resident Magistrate, the Bishop of Nelson, and several of the clergy, and the members of the General Assembly, who received invitations to the private entree, the following gentlemen attended -.—Messrs. Christchubch Exhibition. — The medals and certificates gained by Nelson exhibitors have been received, and may be seen at the Provincial Government Buildings. The medals, especially the silver one which bas fallen to the lot of Messrs Webley Brothers, are exceedingly handsome, and the winners may well be proud of them.
