ARRIVAL OF THE GOVERNOR.

About half-past nine this morning the firing of a gun from the Bignal station gave notice that the G-overnor's yacht Blanche with his Excellency on board was In sight. The steamer Lady .Baiikly, which at the time r waa on her way to Motueka, steamed towards her and took her in tpw, andr brough.ther into the harbor, where she now lies in the stream. Owing to the uncertainty that existed as to the time when she might be expected, there was no public demonstration of any kind, whatever, only a few people being collected on the wharf, bat his Honor the Superintendent and Executive, and his Worship the Mayor went out to receive his Excellency, who at once disembarked and drove up to the residence of the Mayor, whose guest he now ig. An undress levee will be held at the Provincial Hall at one p.m. to-morrow, when the Artillery Company will furnish a guard of honor, and it is intended, we understand, that there shall be a ball on Wednesday evening. The Blanche left Manukau on Saturday morning, and was towed down as far as Stephen's Island by the Luna, which then proceeded to Wellington taking Lady Fergusson and family. The weather to-day is most unfavorable, but it is to be hoped that it may clear off to-morrow so that His Excellency may take a drive into the country anJ enjoy the proverbial sunshine of Nelson.
