WAIMEA-STREET SEWER. TO THE EDITOB OF THE EVENING MAIL. Sir — In your Saturday's issue there appeared a letter from Mr Younger, Surveyor to the Board of Works, trying to lead the pub)ic to believe that the water pipe at Bridge-street was the first cause of digression from the original levels. This, fcir, I totally deny, as the sewer was well on for completion to the crossing at Bridge-street before Mr Younger made application to have the water pipe altered, which, I may say, was done in strict compliance with his orders, and when finished, he declared himself perfectly well satisfied with it. As to the other cause of digression from the levels at " Point Depression," or Patterson's corner, and which had been foreseen (?) for so long by the Surveyor, and which wa9 altered to his strict instructions; this I quite believe, ns I do not think any other person but Mr Younger could have seen 60 far, and given the same number of levels in so short a distance.
