The Bangalore arrived at Adelaide ■on tbe 6th. . At the opening of the Royal Colonial ; Institute all supported sentiments in favor of a United Empire on a Federal basis. j Captain Glover, who occupies a conspicuous, place in the Ashantee war, is the son of the Rev Glover, who lost his two sons in tbe New Zealand war. The Eclipse screw sloop, Captain Erskine, has sailed for the Australian ] station. The monument in memory, of the officers killed in the New Zealand war is progressing rapidly towards completion. The Greenwich Park Church Missionary Society have opened a fund for the relief of the sufferers by the Bengal famine, which is far more serious than at first reported. The** Dutch have taken several Achanese villages, and are successfully operating against Kratow. Baron Router's agents have surveyed 'upwards of eighty miles between Roptna Coast and Teheran. Earthworks are being continued towards Rustumbad. The site for the terminus is at fixed Gazelli. The Scimitar has sailed for Dunedin with 350 immigrants.
