BOARD OF WORKS.

A special meeting of the Board of Works was held on January 14, 1874. Present, all the members. The Public Works Committee reported having met, and considered the size and cost of the intended Bewer in Waioaeastreet, also terras of specification, &c. Resolved, " Thai, tenders be advertised for to-morrow for the construction of the main drain in Waimea- street." Resolved, on the motion of Mr R. Burn, seconded by Mr Thomson, " That a sum of money not exceeding £1,000 be raised when required for the purpose of defraying I the cost of the said Bewer." The Chairman, reported the result of the deputation to the Superintendent, and that no assistance was to be expected from Government.
