Fire in thk Amuri. — A fire occurred ou Saturday afternoon at the Waiau Accommodation House, whereby Mr Neville, the proprietor, lost his stables, about 26 tons of hay, drays, stockyard, Baddies and harness. The property was uninsured, and the loss is estimated at £500. The Late Accident at Takaka. — A subscription ia bein<{ raised to assist the widow nnd children of Michael Campion who wa3 the victim of the late unfortunate accident at Takaka. The poor woman is in a delicate slate of health and destitute of nil means of support, and we sincerely trust that the appeal made to the public on ber behalf will meefc wilh a liberal response.
