Mb Cubtis held a most successful meeting at Giles* Terrace iaßt night; three cheers were given for him at the conclusion of the meeting. Wesleyan Chuech, Nelson. — The Rev, W. Morley, from Wellington, wiil deliver a lecture in this Church this evening at 7"30 o'clock. Cricket Match with Wakffie^^— The very unfavorable state of the weaffier this morning made many doubt that the match would come off to-day. The Union Eleven turned out, however, and had everything ready for their visitors by 1 1 o'clock, when their hopes of a good game were blighted by the arrival of the mail coach, and the* news that the Wakefield men thought it too wet to come down. The game has therefore been postponed till to-morrow, when (weather permitting) wickets will be pitched at 10 o'clock.
