The Nelson Evening Mail. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1873.

Mb. o' Conor invites the electors to meet him at the Provincial Hall, this , evening, at 8 o'clock* City Election.— The nomination of candidates for the representation of the City in the Provincial Council will take place at noon to-morrow. Volunteerb.-— The members of the various City Companies will parade in the Botanical Gardens this evening, at 6.30 , o'clock. Christ Chuech.— There will be a choral service at Christ Church to-morrow evening, when the Rev; E, A. Lingard will officiate. The sermon will be preached by the Right Rev. the Primate. Harmonic Society.— We. are requested ■id call the attention of members of this Society to an advertisement stating that the usual practice will not be held this' evening. The Anniversary Services in connection with the Spring; Grove Wesleyan Church, will take place on Sunday next. Sermons will be preached by the Rev. G. S. JHarper, and 1 Rev. J. S. Rishworth. A public tea meeting will be held on Monday. Sudden Death in. Mablborouh.— • The Express contains a report of an inquest held at Spring Creek, on the body of Mrs Catherine Gibson, who had been driven into Blenheim by her husband to £&c the doctor, as she had been suffering r from whooping cough, and was in a very weak state, and died in the conveyance on her way home. The medical man stated that dedth was caused by weakness of the heart, and a verdict was returned accordingly.
