RIFLE MATCH.
A rifle match took place on Wednesday betweeu ihe " Tarnnaki Kifie Association," and the Neisou District, twelve men a-side; ranges, 400, 500, nnd 600 yardp, fivo shots at each range, target 6x6 feet. Tho Nelson District team were taken from the City Rifles, ar.d Waimeft West Rifles. A strong south-east wind that was blowing when the City Rifles fireri, nccounts for their shooting being so bad. Private F. Tornlinson of the Wairnea Rifles made a splendid score of 50. The Taranaki team won by 50 points, their totai score beiog 487.
