National Bank of New Zealand. — Shareholders are reminded that thasecond call of ten shillings per share will be due on Wednesday next, the Ist October, on which date the Nelson branch is advertised to be opened. Arrangements are being made for raising several of the houses on the Maxwell Road, Blenheim, in order to secure the inhabitants from inconvenience in flood time. A squall from the S.S.W. similar to that which passed over Nelson on Thursday last, is reported to have occurred at Wellington at. somewhere about the same time, namely, one p.m.
