A Star pigeon despatch states that the ship St. Leonard's is in the channel. It taya the vessel ia only 84 iSaya out from the time of her start. A child died, but all on board are well. Dunedin, Sept. 26. Mr Duncan reports: — Flour steady at £12 to £13. Trnde lots of oatmeal, 245; barley, 3s. Of bran the market is bare, and the price is advanced to ss; pollard, ss; wheat, dull at 5s 3d to 5s 6\. For oats no demand st 4s 2d to 4s sd. For barley uo enquiry. Over eighty guineas have been collected here for Captain Rouse's family. The Hozelholme brings 336 tons of sugar for this port, and 328 tons for Auckland. The Marparetta brings 250 tons here, aud 135 for Lyttelton. This is the first of the season's sogar from the Alauntius. Arrived: G^mbok, barque, from New York, all weil, 103 dayß out; and Maori, from Lyttelton. Sailed: at 1.45 p.m., Phoebe for Sydney via the North. Port Chalmers, Sept. 26. Arrived: Bebington, 89 days out from London. Lyttelton, Sept. 26. Arrived: Whitehall, 100 days from Gravesend, with 203 passengers, all well. Cleared: Mary Shepherd, for Newcastle; Surprise, for Auckland. Christcburcb, September 26. A tender for the erection of the first pnrt of the Cathedral has been accepted at £4,328. There are forty-nine entries for the { en < ire show to-morrow, under the auspices of the Agricultural and Pastoral Associations. The Boating season opens on the llfch October. Wangnnni, September 26. Mr Freeman Jackson reports: — Beef, at 17s 6d; mutton, 31; fat sheep have been sold for shipment at 17s 3d. , New Plymouth, September 26. Constable Sole has been killed at Wrenui wl'ilst cutting timber. The wreck of the Ottawa was auctioned yesterday. The ship was sold for £20, and the cargo for £135. An inquiry will be held to-day into the cause of the wreck.
