Lunatic Astlum.— Tenders for levelling the site for the new LuDatic Asylum were opened at the Provincial Secretary's office, this morning, when that of William Jennings, for £128 15s was accepted. Prisoners were remanded until Monday. ► Accident. — A serious accident occurred early this morning to a man named Cullen in the employ of Dr. Cotterell, who on his way home fell, and badly fractured his arm. The bone was to be set by Drs. Cotterell and Boor this afternoon. Centbal Board of Health. — A meeting of the Board was held this morning, when it was resolved to recommend to the Governor that Clauses 20 to 45 of the Public Health Act bS"brbught into operation in the town of' 'Nfeison. We shall give an abstract of these clauses on Monday. Horticultural and Industrial Exhibition. — We understand that bis Excellency ihe Governor has been invited to open this Exhibition in November next. The Committee are advertising for colored designs for a certificate of honorable mention. They offer a premium of £5 5s for the best, and this is a sum which should' secure a really good design, v. They do not bind themselves to accept) the best merely because ifc is the best, but must be satisfied with its intrinsic, as well as its comparative merits.
