PARLIAMENTARY.
House of Repeesentatives. Wellington, August 19. In the House last night, the Province of Westland Bill was read" tne second time. Messrs Harrison, O'Conor, and White supported it. There was no opposition except a desire for postponement by Mr Gillies for more time to consider it. On the motion that the Houbo go into Committee on the Native Reserves Bill, a long discussion ensued. The Maoris and others opposed it. Eventually the House went into Committee, and passed a few clauses, when progress was reported.
