The Carlist insurrection in Spain is spreading. Don Carlos has a force of 30,01 0 men. Competition in the iron trade has lead to a further reduction. Jig iron in now £5 Us. Copper £90, Mr Gladstone declares for the speedy introduction of a household franchise for the counties. The Education Bill has passed; all the amendments being negatived. Severe Htorms have occurred in the country districts. '! he Cnrlists. after meeting with a reverse on the Enro. received large reinforcements, and captured Zualada, near Barcelona. A new Ministry has been formed. The Judicature Bill has passed. The Russian army of occupation remains at Khiva. Seventeen Colonial awards were made at the Vienna Exhibition.
