The Estimates. — The estimates for the current year were laid on the table on Monday last. The anticipated revenue is as follows: ~ * Capitation allowance, £12,500} land fund, £9,000; gold duty, £13,000;\ goldfields revenue, £21,000; Publicans' and other licenses, £2,000; harbor, "£800; wharves, £850; Scab Act, £I.ooos "education rate, £2,200; Brunner coalmine, £9,000; miscellaneous, £2,500. Total, £73,850. It is reported that Mr Copeland, lateof Marshall and ■ Copeland, the celebrated brewers of Dunedin, sold out of the firm for £36,000. The Daily Southern Gross has been bought up by a limited company, Mr. Vogel getting £4000 for the plant and goodwill. The chief shareholders are Captain Daldy and Messrs W.S. G-rahame, Vogel, and Stannus Jones. The capital 'of the company is £10,000, in shares of£l each.
