Clifton Terrace Suburb an North. — An entertainment was given at the schoolroom, on Monday evening last,* for the benefit of the Clifton Terrace Library, to a select and appreciative audience. .Mr G*. C. Gilbert delivered a short descriptive lecture on "Egypt, the Nile, and its Ruins," copiously illustrated with magic lantern views. The second portion of the entertainment consisted of music, vocal instrumental. On Friday evening next, Mr Gilbert -will repeat the lecture and also exhibit a number of other views, more particularly for the children in the district, who -will be admitted at the low charge of threepence each. On Monday April Hth a concert will be given also for the benefit of the Clifton Terrace Library, when it is to be hoped a large audience will be present. It is the intention of the library committee to endeavour to furnish a series of fortnightly entertainments through the winter at the charge of one shilling for admittance, several gentlemen having promised to contribute to this desirable object. — Communicated,
