Superintendent's 'Office, Nelson,' 7' \ December 13, 1872. ,/ THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that it is ' the intention of the Government to proclaim and declare the 9th. and I OthV sections of " The Nelson Scab Act, 18G3,'/ to be in operation throughout the Province of Nelson on and after the Ist day of MAY next, . excepting only that portion of the Nelson Southwest. Goldfields comprised within the following boundaries, viz. — ' Commencing at the mouth of the river Grey, on the sea coast; thence by the sea coast to the mouth of the river Karnmea; thence * up the Karamea river to a point known as the Karamea Bend; thence in a straight line to the junction cf the rivers Wangapeka and Dart; thence in 'a straight line to the junction of the rivers Bulter and •» Hope; thence following the boundary of the Nelson South-west Goldfields to the boundary of the County of Westland; thence by the boundary of the said county to the source of the river Arnold; . thecce by tho rivers Arnold' and Grey to the sea coast. A REWARD of ONE HUNDRED' POUND 8 will be given by the Provincial Government to ANY PERSON who may DISCOVER within the Province A WORKABLE SEAM OF TRUE STEAM COAL in an accessible Dosition for transport by land to the Port of Nelson WITHIN SEVENTY-FIVE MILES or the town boundary. The attention of explorers is requested to the above expression, True Steam Coal, as abundance of brown and other coal of inferior quality is already known to exist within, the described limits.
