Wellington, November 1 8. • - The Rangatira arrived yesterday from Tory Channel, bhe searched every nook, but could find no trace of the missing boat. The City of Newcastle struck when in full sail. The captain, Mr rox, and five cf the crew followed in another bout, but saw no signs of the first. Miortly alier the captain left, the ship commenced to break up. The mate swam ashore with a line, and four of the six men who were left on the wreck were saved. The two who were drowned were Abbott, a passenger, and Burrows, the ship's coolc lhe missing passengers are Mesdames Pilcher, Fox, and Jones, Miss Cameron, and Master. Jones. A whaleboat has been bent out from Hcton with provisions t> make starch, but when thr Kan fatira Jelt Tory i 'hannel yesterday no traces of the missing party had been discovered The Maoris are actively assisting in the search.
