Auckland, September 11. A fire broke out this mornin.. in Malcolm and Bicol's store, Custom House-street, and a large quantity of tarred rope was burnt. The Fire brigade and police were soon on the spot, and j stopped the progress of tbe flames, the damage amounting to only about £100. Arrived : Mary Nelson from Newcastle, Go-a-head from Wanganui, Star of the South from Napier. bailed : Alexandra, for Sydney. She tafee* : over 50 diggers for the new rush at Queensland; and.has also 100 barrels of blasting powder for Melbourne, the market being overstocked here.
