NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.
Friday, August 9. Present : All the members but Mr Burn. The Surveyor was ordered to construct a footpath in Alfred-street. In reply to letters received, it was I resolved that if the churchwardens of [ Christ Church would erect a lamp at the I foot of the Church-hill, in Nile-street east, and the Government put one up at the corner of Vanguard-street, near the Postoffice, tbe Board would light thero. The Secretary was instructed to write to the chairmen of the existing corporations in the colony asking them to furnish statements of their respective expenditure. Tho surveyor was instructed to repair the bridge in Rentone street. Permission was granted, under certain conditions, to Mr Crewdson to lay do^n a line* of rails across the footpath at the junction of Waimea and Hardy streets., The oflicers of the Board were reappointed under the same engagement as existed between them and the old Board. *«*»M*w-**--*U-*-M--*-S-*i-^ ■■■ ii__a_s
