Wellington, August 10, Certain amendments were made last night in the Highway Boards Empowering Act. The proviso in clause 6 was amended by increasing "five per cent" to 12 J per cent; one shilling to 2s 6d; and one penny to threepence. In the debate on Tairoa's motion, Mr Rolleston severely criticised the report on Native Reserves at Greyroouth. The Premier said that the land was only to be sold at a fair price, and with the consent of the owners.
