BOARD OF OF HEALTH.

Monday, July 22. Thft Board met this morning. Present: — L. Broad, Esq., RJtf. (Chairman) ;D. Johnston, Esq., Collector of Customs ; T. Brunner, Esq., J.P.; aud Dr. Vickerman, Health Officer. The question of appointing some quarantine ground to which isolated cases of smallpox might be removed was taken into consideration, and the following resolutions were addopted : — "That this Board is appointed for the Port only, to carry out the Harbor and Quarantine regulations: "That this Board has no authority over the Town of Nelson, and cannot therefore interfere in case of any infectious illness breaking out."

'• That this Board considers the Provincial Government should at once take such steps, with the advice of the Provincial Surgeon, as may be considered necessary, and this Board will be glad to render all the assistance and information in its power."
