SYDNEY.
The Government appears to have a good working majority. A deputation from the Chamber of Commerce waited upon the Government with reference to direct postal communication with California. Mr. Parkes considered it advisable that ships should be built specially for the line. Arrived — Magellan Cloud, and Lady Bird from New Zealand. Wheat firm at 6s. Wool sales show a slight decline in price.
