- 0 Friday. May 31. Present : Messrs. Webb, Burn, Hounsell, Burns, Dodson, and the chairman. Tbe Surveyor was instructed to remove the lamp post from Rutter and Biddell's corner to Mr. Stanton's corner. The tender of Wimsett and Son for two road scrapers at £5 17s. 6d: each was. accepted. The Public Works Committee recommended the gravelling of the footpaths in Hardy and Tory streets, and the trimming up of the sides of the ditch in Vanguard-street. It ; was proposed by Mr. Webb and seconded by Mr. Dodson, "That notice be given to the officers of the Board that- the arrangement between them and the Board terminate at the expiration of three months from this date." The following, amendment was proposed by Mr. R. Burn, seconded by Mr: D. Burns, and carried : — " That it is inexpedient and impolitic at present to make any' alteration in the existing . engagements between the officers and the Board." Permission was granted to Messrs.' Freeman and Million to launch a vessel across the Haven Road. . , Letters were received, from Messrs.
