ITALY.
A fresh crateris opened in Vesuvius. A stream of lava threatens the villages on the mountain sides. The inhabitants are removing in thousands, and are "Camped in fields; The bay is covered with boats filled with spectators. The scene is rendered grand and terrible by flames sometimes shooting to a great height, and masses of rock ejected with. lava. Earthquake shocks are distinctly, felt in Naples. Six tourists are reported as killed. The Pope received a deputation of 2,000 citizens at Rome. He thanked them for their devotion to the Holy See, and reproached the Italian Government for usurping the rights of the Church.
