Friday, May 17. A further application was received from tho Rev. A. M. Garin asking for the road to be made through private property to the new school at St. Mary's. The Secretary was instructed to reply that, as in every other instance the local board had undertaken all the expenses connected with the erection of scboolhouses aud making the approaches thereto, the Board did not feel justified in acceding to his request. A letter was received from the Superintendent's office, stating that £108 18a 4d, being the amount accruing from the sale of dog-tickets for tbe year, had been placed to the credit of the Board. The Surveyor was instructed to gravel the road in front of Mr. Lukins's house at the Port so soon as the road was made up. A letter was received from the wardens and vestry of All Saints' Church, ask'ng tbat a footpath might be made in Van-guard-street. Ordered to be done as soon as the prison labor was available. The surveyor was instructed to remove the lamppostjjfrom Mr. Stanton's corner to the corner of Nile and Waimea-streets. Tbe Board then adjourned until Friday, 31st instant.
