The Nelson Evening Mail. FRIDAY, MAY 17, 1872.

Bank Holiday. — The Banks will be closed on Monday next, which, as Whit Monday, will be one of the new legal holidays. Provincial Council. — The Council met at 11 o'clock this morning, when, on the motion oi Mr. Luckie, a Select Committee was appointed to enquire into the subject of the proposed change of site for the Gasworks for Nelson . There was no business of importance on the paper, and the Council adjourned until Monday evening.
