MOTUEKA FARMERS' CLUB.
A meeting of this Club was held at the Institute on Monday evening, the Bth inst. In the absence of Mr. Macmahon, the chairman, Mr. F. D. Greenwood, the treasurer, was appointed to take the chair. The Secretary read a letter from the Provincial Secretary, stating that £20 had been paid for the Motueka Farmers' Club. On the motion of the Secretary, it was resolved that a ploughing match be held on Wednesday, the 24th inst., provided a suitable piece of ground can be secured; that £4 10s. be set apart for prizes, viz., Ist prize £2, 2nd prize £1 10s., and 3rd prize £1; each competitor to pay an entrance fee of 35.; and tbat Messrs. Greenwood, EdelsteD, Coppins, and the Secretary form a committee for carrying out, the necessary details in connection with tbe match." On the motion of Mr. Coppins, it was resolved tbat Messrs. Tarrant, Heath, and Tannant be appointed judges of the ploughing. It was also resolved, that the Secretary write to the Australian Bone Mill and Patent Manure Company, iv order to ascertain at what price per ton they will supply the Club with, bone. dust and other manures. N The Club < are ,-: expecting to receive shortly some Nor way oats -from 'California, and some of Brbdie's white prolific wheat from Adelaide, for seed.
