February 21. — A tbankegivicg day was observed yesterday by order of the Government, in recognition of the recovery of the Prince of Wales. In the city and throughout tbe colony it was observed as a close holiday, and services were held iv all the churches. The city corporation adopted an address of congratulation to Her Majesty. Ministerial banquets at Stawell and Ararat, " Fizzle." (?) The reason of the misadventure is said to have been mismanagement. Tbe leading members were not present, and the representatives of the press were mistaken for the Ministers, and received all the kudos in spite of the attempts at explanation. Captain Collard's trial for misdemeanor in the loss of the Sussex, will be conducted by the Attorney-General in persou. Another fatality has occurred, apparently a suicide, to a man whose name is unknown, on the Hobsou's Bay Railway.
