NELSON BOARD OF WORKS.

Friday, December 1, 1871. All the members present except Mr. J. Hounsell. A letter was read from Mr. Bruuner requesting to be furnished with a detailed 'S'aremenfc of the rates due for each year, and giving the amount due on each property, of land formerly belonging to Mr. Wrey. The Collector was instructed to f.urnish the necessary information, and also to inform Mr. Brunner that if the arrears were not at once paid they would be sued for. r In accordance with a rfquest from the trustees of the Wesleyan Church, the Surveyor was instructed to have the footpath in front of the building lowered. A letter was received from the Bey. G. 11. Jolmstone asking the Board to lay out the street line in Nile nnd Collingwood streets along the' Parsonage ground. The matter was referred to the Public Works Committee. A letter was received from Mr. G. W. Lightband calling the attentiou of the Board to the state of the road in Nilestreet east. The Surveyor was instructed to fill up the hollows from time to time with the cleanings of the water tables. The Board then adjourned until Monday afternoon, when a special meeting will be held for the purpose of receiving tenders j for the making and carting of bricks for the new sewerage works. j | I
