"WOOL MARKET. London, October 10.— At this season's wool sales 3fi,188 bales have been sold to date. The market opened at Id. to l§d. per pound in advance on all descriptions. This has since increased to fully 2d. over July rate. Lincoln hogs, dull, 16d. ; wethers, 24d.; Southdown ewes, 22d.; Irish hogs, 25d.; ditto, wethers, 24d. The present consumption promises a maintenance of rates ior the next few months. New York wool met with good enquiry. During the month the arrivals were 33,322 bales, N.Z.; and 84,528 Australian. FLAX. A further advance in the price of Manilla has materially assisted the flax market. 1353 bales realised full rates; medium, partly cleaned, £24 to £26 10s. ; good medium, £29; good and fine, cleaned, £32 to £33 10s. COKN MARKET. Since 11th September, a fall of 6d. to Is. per quarter took place, owing to millers having stocked. Quotations for New Zealand wheat 625. Much New Zealand wheat has lately arrived in bad condition, and only saleable at 455., for cattle food or starch. The cause of damage is supposed to be bad harvesting. San Francisco wheat market inactive — 11s. 2d. per cental. Flour, 7 dols. 75 cents in sacks of 1961b5. TALLOW. Fair competition. Sheep, 335. to 435. ; Beef» 365. to 425.
