Aueoka Australis. — ; The northern sky was lighted up by this beautiful phenomenon between the hours of nine and ten on Saturday night. The Late Bishop Pattesost. — As a mark of respect to the memory of the lamented Bishop of Melanesia, Christ Churoh and All Saints' were yesterday draped with black, and 'feermonß were preached referring to the irreparable loss the mifißionary work had sustained in the
removal of a man so respected, so be-oved, and so talented as was he whose untimely death was now being mourned throughout New Zealand. Tkap Accident. — An accident, fortunately attended with no more serious results than the smashing of his carriage, occurred to Mr. J. Sharp this morniug, when on his way to Spring Grove to attend the monthly sitting of the Court. So far as we are able to learn, the horse he was driving shied at a passing vehicle, and capsized the trap iuto a ditch, throwing the driver out, and then bolting with the remains of the trap, which we hear is completely smashed. We have not been able to ascertain all the particulars, but, as Mr. Sharp was seen walking along the road after the accident, we trust that he himself has sustained no injury.
