We are intebted to Mr. R. B. Pringle, purser of the s.s. Phoebe, for the following report of that vessel's trip from Otago :— The s.s. Phoebe, H. Worsp, Commander, left Port Chalmers at 2.40 p.m. on the 2nd; encountered strong head winds to Lyttelton, reaching there at 3.30, p.m. on the 3rd. Sailed same day at 8.30 p.m.; experienced heavy N. E. gale an 3 sea to Cape Campbell, from thence to Wellington strong unceasing N. W. gale, and arrived at Wellington, at 7.30 p.m. Proceeded again at 2.30 p.m. on the sth; heavy easterly gale and ship confused in the straits, reaching Picton at 8.30 pm. Left at 2.30 a.m. to-day, arriving here at noon.
