The Waimea Bridges — We understand that the bridge over the Wui-iti river will be completed to-day, and that Holder's coach will cross it this evening for the first time. The repairs of the Wairoa bridge are now finished, and it also is open for traffic.

Native Intelligence. — Te Kooti's Whereabouts. — Late last evening the General Government agent received despatches from Sub-lospector Gumming, from Waikaremoana, who is iii occupation of Tikitiki and Onepotu, the principal places on the Lake. To Kooti is on the Lake, moving from point to point, generally at night. Some of the Lake people have either joined him voluntarily, or been forced to accompauy him. Te Kooti appears to be inviting a collision with some of our forces, and it is hoped that one will take place as soon as Captain Preece arrives, who has been delayed by the wet weather. Simultaneously with the receipt of this intelligence, the GeneGovernment was informed by telegraph from Tarawhera, that two large bodies of straoge natives had been seen on the hills in the neighborhood of that post. Tarawera being as the crow flies, only 25 miles from Waikaremoana, and an a3 old track leads from Waikaremoana to Taupo past this place, it was thought more than probable that it was Te Kooti endeavoring to escape into the Waikato country. Search was made, but no traces of any body of men could be found. Steps should be taken to punish the inventors of these false reports. — Napier Telegraph, July 3 it
