The Missing Marseilles Bag-. — Our readers will be glad to hear that a telegram received by the Postmaster, states that, this mail bag is on board the Alhambra. The Suez Mail. — A telegram having been received from the captain of the Alhambra, to the effect that he intends to leave Nelson by to-morrow afternoon's tide, the English mail will close at the Post Office, at two o'clock instead of four, as notified yesterday. Wool Ship. — Messrs. N. Edwards and Co. were advised by telegram on Tuesday last, that the ship Firth of Clyde had arrived at Port Underwood from Wellington, and taken her first bale of wool on board, from the cutter Alert, then lying alongside. The Firth of Clyde is a fine new iron Clyde-built vessel. Collingwood. — The Lady Barkly brought over last night 102 ounces of gold, the produce of 164 tons of stone, from No. 3 drive, in the Perseverauce Company's mine. Captain Walker also brought 65 ounces obtained from the various alluvial diggings in the district. The coal, we are glad to hear, is decidedly improving as the workings are proceeded with, and what is now being taken out is much better adapted for steam purposes than was the case at first. Taranaki Elections. — A telegram, dated 11th November, states that Mr. J. C. Richmond proposes to come forward for the G-rey and Bell district, which he has commenced canvassing ; he will be opposed by Mr. Carrington, the Superintendent, and Mr. Sewell is also mentioned, Mr. Kelly has come forward for the town, and Mr. Carthew and Mr. Brown oppose each other for Egmont.
