PLOUGHING MATCH.
Q Judges : Messrs. Stratford, Bird, and Soiiger. There was a good attendance yesterday at Mrs. Saxton's paddock at Stoke, when the annual ploughing match of the Agricultural Association took place. The prizes were divided into three classes, namely, for swing ploughs, wheel ploughs, and ploughs drawn by bullocks, three of the former, ten of the secoud, and one of the latter started. The prizes were awarded as follows : — Wheel ploughs, — Ist prize, £3, J. Satherly; 2a J, £2, G. Sntherly; 3rd, £1, T. Russ, W. Russ, TV. Eyles, and F. Primmer were hihgly commended, and a reward of 10s. was awarded to each. The whole of the work done in this class was excelleutly performed and elicited much praise from the bystanders. Swing ploughs, — Ist prize, £3, W. Biggar ; 2nd, £2, M. O'Connor ; commend ed, J. Leigh ton. Bullock ploughs, — For this ouly one started, namely, C. Gapper, to whom the prize was awarded. Straightest Furrow, — T. Russ was the winner of this prize which consisted of £1. lu the evening the Association hold its annual dinner at the Star and Garter Hotel.
