RESIDENTS MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
[Before J. Sharp, Esq., E.M.] This Day. Elizabeth Aldridge, a person of unsound mind, was, ou the testimony of Drs. Seily aud Cotterell, committed to the Lunatic Asylum. James Hunter and James Collins, charged with being drunk aud incapable, were each fined 10s. and costs. Hans Peterson, charged with vagrancy, was remanded until to-morrow. The richness of the Lyell reefs is said to be an undoubted fact. O»3 reef is said to be five feet thick, with gold visible. £300 has been offered for a share, and the prospects altogether are described as excellent.
